Wonderland of Lights is a festival conceived nearly 35 years ago and is still going strong. The month long festival in Downtown Marshall features millions of twinkling lights dawning the Historic 1901 Courthouse, carriage rides, an ice rink, Santa’s Village, train rides, and a multitude of weekend events to get you in the spirit of the season!

Each fall the annual FireAnt Festival, held by the Marshall Chamber of Commerce, takes place in downtown Marshall. Featuring over 100 vendors, festival food, live performances, crazy contests and family outdoor activities. This festival represents the best of small-town, festival fun!

Each September at Bear Creek Smokehouse in Marshall, the Bear Creek BBQ & Balloon Glow Festival kicks off a lively, family‑friendly celebration of food, fun, and flaming skies. By dusk, as the sun dips low, nearly 20 colorful hot‑air balloons inflate and light up the evening in a mesmerizing glow‑up display, while guests savor smoky Pasture Pit BBQ, enjoy tethered $25 balloon rides, wander through walk‑through balloon exhibits, and let the kids loose in bounce houses and face‑painting stations. It’s an unforgettable blend of East Texas hospitality and visual spectacle, delivering mouthwatering brisket and vibrant balloons in perfect harmony under the September sky.
Market on the Square

The season kicks off in May and runs through Mid September (sometimes even through December) every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 7 am-noon in downtown Marshall. Josey Ranch Reunion & Jr Worlds Barrel Race

For more than 50 years Marshall has served as home to world champions R.E. & Martha Josey- and of course the legendary Josey Ranch. Operating the longest running rodeo school in the country, the Josey’s have instructed over 200,000 students during their storied careers. Josey Ranch hosts several major clinics and a couple of world class events each year. These include the Josey Reunion Barrel Race and the Josey Jr. World Barrel Race. These events are held each May just a week apart- flooding Marshall with cowboys and cowgirls alike in over a 10 day period! The event is free and open to the public to enjoy!

Caddo Kennel Club Dog Show

The Caddo Kennel Club of Texas presents the AKC Dog Show each year at the City Arena. Dogs from all over the country compete for best in show. The event is free and open to the public.
