Starr Family Home State Historic Site is a 3.1-acre historical site operated by the Texas Historical Commission in downtown Marshall, Texas. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The museum was made a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1986.
The Harrison County Museum is housed inside the historic 1901 Courthouse. The museum features the history of Harrison county and Marshall as it’s county seat. Hours are Tuesday-Friday 11-3 pm, Saturdays 11-2 pm. Admission cost $7 for adults, $6 for seniors, Children under 18 are free.
Spontaneity of expression develops as children apply their own designs to the carpeted walls; selected safe manipulatives, books, and toys appeal to all ages. Surrounded by art in the Discovery Room, learning is fun. As with all of the Michelson’s programs, no fee is charged for the use of the Discovery Room.
This is Marshall’s premier park facility; visited by schools, clubs and individuals from the East Texas area. This park is located just north of Marshall Good Shepherd Medical Center. This facility is comprised of a lighted ball field, four (4) half court basketball courts, two (2) volleyball courts, restroom facility, three (3) covered pavilions one quarter (1/4) mile walking sidewalk and a large play system. This park encompasses approximately seventeen (17) acres.
