Stagecoach Days in Marshall, Texas
Come out May 20-22, 2022 and help us celebrate the return of Stagecoach Days to downtown Marshall, TX. On Friday, we kick off , at high noon, the Miss Loose Caboose contest. Tickets are available on this site. Ride the stagecoach, and head out to Josey’s Ranch on Hwy 43. towards Karnack and enjoy a bonfire, The Rustenhaven band, and listen as Texas historian Bill O’Neal spins yarns about this areas past.
Saturday enjoy the Stagecoach Days parade as it makes its way through downtown. The time for the parade is 10:00 AM. Also come out and bet on the “horses” stick horses that is. We will be having a stick horse race from kids 3 to 5, 6 to 8 and 9 & up. Place your bets on the pony of your choice. All “Winnings” will go to the historic T&P depot to help them keep this lovely part of our history going. You can sign up at the park across from the Starr Home. This is also where the races will be held. Then at 2:00, come watch the live performance of The Shooting at the Depot. It is based on the true story of the tragic shooting of Maurice Barrymore – great grandfather of Drew Barrymore and the murder of Ben Porter. This will be performed under the bridge in the Depot area near The Ginoccchio. To round out Saturday night, Rustenhaven will be performing at Telegraph park for a good old fashioned street day. Show starts at 7:00 PM. Sunday we will wrap it up with a closing blessing from the ministerial alliance.
Also, running at different times and locations we will have Old Fashioned comedy re-enactments all through the area. Plus, you will also be treated with the cannon firing through the days. You don’t want to miss this.
There will also be arts and crafts vendors, information vendors and educational vendors, plus more.
